Welcome !!
My name is Mr. Jacobsen and I am really looking forward to working with you this year. This year is sure to be a different one but together, we can take on High School Algebra.
About me
Hi! My name is Mr. Jacobsen but please call me Mr. J. This 2020 school year will be my seventh year teaching but only my third year with EAHS. Before teaching at Easton, I was a freshman cross country coach, AMC math team coordinator and an Algebra 2 teacher for Don Bosco Prep in upstate New Jersey. I also started the Ultimate Frisbee club and am looking forward to starting one here when we are able to play again. In the photo on the left, you will see my Husky Max. He joins me in my other favorite past times of hiking, biking and running.
Expectations
Together, this year, we are going to learn how to create linear equations, how to analyze statistics, how to compare and contrast different sets of data and introduce ourselves to new ways of reducing big numbers and complex equations.
Class overview
Algebra can be a difficult class; let's be honest. However, Algebra can be exciting in that it allows you for the first time ever to make predictions about the future if you are able to find an equation that represents what you are working with. It also lets you represent information in new ways that we couldn't beforehand.
